What is Airway Clearance Therapy?

Airway clearance therapies (ACT) are designed to loosen thick, sticky mucus so it can be cleared from the lungs by coughing or suction. ACT is considered a cornerstone therapy that aims to minimize mucus buildup to help prevent inflammation and infection.

Airway clearance therapy may incorporate physical or mechanical techniques of clearing airways. Some common methods include chest physiotherapy, huff coughing, PEP devices, and high frequency chest was oscillation vests (also known as HFCWO or vest therapy).

Choose AffloVest

AffloVest is a comfortable, mobile airway clearance therapy that can be used at home, at work, or on the go. In a recent study, patients overwhelmingly preferred AffloVest over bladder-style vests for comfort, auditory experience, lifestyle and use around others.1 It uses HFCWO technology designed to loosen and clear excess mucus — helping patients breathe easier and bring back their everyday joys.
