What is Bronchiectasis?

Bronchiectasis is a chronic lung condition that occurs when the walls of the airways (bronchi) thicken as a result of chronic inflammation and/or chest infections and results in mucus accumulating.

Break the Vicious Cycle of Bronchiectasis

Bronchiectasis is often characterized by a “Vicious Cycle” of mucus buildup in the damaged airways followed by inflammation and infection that can lead to hospitalization and antibiotic treatment for the infection. Mucus buildup can continue contributing to conditions where the cycle can continue. Bronchial hygeine techniques such as Airway Clearance Therapy may help break the cycle and reduce the chances for recurrent infections.
